Tariff of Rs 2.69 to Rs 2.70 per unit discovered in SECI’s latest wind power generation bid


New Delhi: The tariff discovered in the latest bid of the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for wind power generation stood at Rs 2.69 to Rs 2.70 per unit, according to the official press release.It added that the installed capacity of wind power in the country as on 31 October 2021 is 39.99 gigawatt (GW). The release quoted the written replies submitted by the new and renewable energy minister R K Singh in the Lok Sabha on Thursday.The release said that the wind resource assessment conducted by the National Institute of Wind Energy indicated an estimated wind power potential of 695.5 GW at 120 meter above ground level in the country. It added that the wind power generation capacity is higher than the level of the nuclear energy capacity. The installed nuclear power generation capacity of the country was 6.78 GW as on 31 October 2021.Apart from this, a separate official press release added that as on 31 October 2021, the share of solar power installed capacity in the overall electricity capacity is 12.20 per cent, and in terms of electricity mix, it is 4.37 per cent for the year 2020-21.
