Rajasthan Net Metering Regulations - 2015

HIGHLIGHTS

 

Control Period

From the date of publication in the official gazette. 

Eligibility Condition

  • A consumer in the area of supply of the distribution licensee.
  • Plant capacity should not be more than 80% of sanctioned connected load.
  • Minimum plant capacity should be more than 1 kWp, and a maximum of 1 MWp.

Capacity Target for Distribution Licensee

Cumulative capacity should be restricted to 30% of the rated capacity of the distribution transformer.

Metering Arrangement

  • Bi-directional meter shouldbe installed at the interconnection point with the network of the distribution line.
  • Meters of existing consumers shall be replaced by net meters.
  • Check meters are mandatory for systems having capacity more than 250 kW, and optional otherwise.

 

OTHER PROVISIONS

 

Energy accounting and settlement

  • The distribution licensee shall pay for excess electricity injected into the grid at the feed-in tariff, during the next billing period, provided such excess electricity exceeds 50 units.
  • Net energy credits, less than 50 units, in any given billing period shall be adjusted in the next billing period until cumulative credit reaches 50 units.
  • If consumption by the consumer exceeds generation, then the distribution licensee shall raise a bill in the next billing period after taking into consideration any credit balance from the previous billing period.
  • For time of day tariff, electricity consumption in any time block would first be compensated with the generation in that block. Any accumulated excess generation in other time blocks would be considered as excess generation during off-peak time.

Other charges

Exempted from banking and wheeling charges, and cross subsidy surcharge.

Penalty

As decided by the Commission from time to time.
