Ways to Meet RPO

Purchase of renewable energy and renewable energy certificates.
Certificates
  • Obligations to purchase solar and non-solar energy can be fulfilled only by purchase of solar and non-solar certificates, respectively.
  • Certificates shall be deposited with the Commission, by the obligated entity, along with RPO compliance report.

Effect of default
  • In case of non-fulfilment of RPO by obligated entities, said entities may be asked by the Commission to depositan amount into a separate fund created and maintained by the obligated entity.
  • The amount of deposit shall be determined on the basis of shortfall in RPO and forbearance price.
  • The fund shall be utilized by order of the Commission for purchase of certificates or for promoting renewable energy in the state.
