HIGHLIGHTS

 

Control Period

From the date of gazette notification.

Eligibility Condition
  • Consumer in the distribution licensee’sarea of supply.
  • Minimum 1 kWp and maximum 1 MWp (AC side).
Capacity Target for Distribution Licensee

The maximum cumulative capacity target for connections is as follows:

Cumulative capacity at a particular distribution transformer shall not exceed 15% of its peak capacity.

Metering Arrangement

Net meters shall be of accuracy class 1.0 or better, or as per the specifications of the competent authority, and solar meters shall be of 0.2s class accuracy.

 

OTHER PROVISIONS

 

Energy accounting and settlement
  • Electricity injected less electricity consumed in the billing period shall be carried forward to the next billing period.
  • Electricity supplied by licensee less electricity generated shall be treated as net electricity consumption and should be billed after taking into account any electricity credit balance from previous billing period.
  • Under TOD tariff system, electricity consumption in any time block shall be first compensated with electricity generation in the same time block, and any excess generation in any other time block shall be adjusted against off-peak time block.
  • At the end of the settlement period, in case of excess electricity injection by the consumer, the licensee shall pay average pooled power purchase cost to the consumer.
Other charges/Exemptions

Exempted from banking, wheeling and cross subsidy surcharges.

Penalty

In case of failure of net metering system, the provisions of penalty or compensation shall be as per the provisions of the Standard of Performance Regulations for Distribution Licensee notified by the Commission.
