Tax Exemptions

Octroi on NRSE fuels to be used for energy generation and NRSE devices/equipment/machinery for NRSE Power Projects shall be fully exempted.

Manufacturing and sale of NRSE devices/systems, equipments/machinery required for power projects shall be exempted from value added tax (VAT) and any cess thereof

Evacuation Arrangement  Plant owner or power producer with certain exceptions

 

OTHER PROVISIONS

 

Exemptions
  • Captive generators from NRSE will be fully exempted from levy of electricity duty
  • 100% electricity duty will be waived for power consumption from the state licensee during consumption and testing of the project
  • Octroi on NRSE fuels to be used for energy generation and NRSE devices/equipment/machinery for NRSE Power Projects shall be fully exempted. Octroi on self-consumption of power by captive power plants in the same premises or thru wheeling by open access to same group companies shall also be exempted
  • Manufacturing and sale of NRSE devices/systems, equipments/machinery required for power projects shall be exempted from value added tax (VAT) and any cess thereof
  • 100% exemption from entry tax in respect of all supplies (including capital goods, structure and raw materials) made for setting up and trial operation of project
  • 100% exemption from payment of fees and stamp duties for registration and lease deed charges for the land required for the project
  • No CLU, EDC/or any other charges or fees shall be payable for using agricultural land for setting up of renewable energy power projects in the state

Solar PV power projects shall be exempted from obtaining any consent / NOC under the pollution control law of the state from PPCB

Provision for Policy Review The State Government shall provide the clearances in a time bound manner through a single window mechanism within a period of 60 days after the submission of complete application along with necessary enclosures, fees/charges and DPR
Other Incentives

Renewable energy projects shall be considered as the industrial projects under the industrial policy of the state and will be eligible for all the incentives provided to the industrial projects under the state industrial policy

Ownership of canal lands beside the irrigation land should be transferred to the PEDA by the Punjab Irrigation Department on notional lease amount of 1.5 lacs per annum per site. Subsequently the canal land should be transferred to small hydro power producers for 38 years in BOO mode. No departmental charges should be paid to PID for deposit work of the canals by PID on behalf of the private developers. However supervision charges on actual basis shall be payable subject to maximum 5% of the deposit work by PID.
